2025 Open Campus at RWTH Aachen: Demonstrating 5G Connectivity and Robotics in Construction
At the Campus Melaten of RWTH Aachen University, the Reference Construction Site opened its doors for the Open-Campus-Week 2025. Together, we celebrated the new Excellence Cluster CARE, the demonstrations of our industry partners within TARGET-X, and provided insights into cutting-edge research on 5G, robotics, and digital construction processes.
The event created a platform for networking and exchange between industry, politics, and academia – with inspiring discussions about the construction site of the future: from new design principles for deconstruction and circularity to safe human-machine collaboration.
The Open Campus Week impressively demonstrated how innovation, practice, and vision come together to make the construction industry more sustainable, efficient, and future-ready. Special guests Minister Ina Brandes MDL, Ministry of Culture and Science of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Aachen Mayor Sibylle Keupen and the chancellor of the RWTH Aachen University Thomas Trännapp opened the special event, during which they had the opportunity to personally test the demonstrations.
