Nominated for the BAUMA Innovation Award 2022

The Chair of Individualized Production has been nominated for the BAUMA Innovation Award with the ROBETON project. The goal of the ROBETON research project is to deconstruct concrete walls in a minimally invasive way to prepare them for reuse for circulareconomy in construction. A research team at the Chair of Individualized Construction Production is working with an international industry consortium and students from the Construction & Robotics master’s program to cut individual components out of buildings being demolished so that they can later be reused in construction and circular economy. Currently, there are neither fully nor partially automated solutions on the market. This gap is now to be closed. The ROBETON research project is funded by the Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development (BBSR) on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Housing, Urban Development (BMWSB) with funds from the Zukunft Bau research grant.

Furthermore, the project is supported by the project partners Hilti and Brokk as well as the associated project partners PORR; EIFFAGE, LEONHARD WEISS, HKS Drehantriebe, Kerschgens and the IMF Group.

The IP research team consists of Prof. Sigrid Brell-Cokcan, Christoph Heuer, Joo Lee and Victoria Jung.
